The annual Burns Night Supper is held on the Saturday nearest Jan 25th (Burns Birthday). In keeping with tradition the haggis is duly piped in and addressed by a reading of the unpronounceable (to a Sassenach) poem by Burns ‘Address to a Haggis’. In 2023 it will be on January 28th
The traditional meal which follows is one of cock-a-leekie soup, haggis served with tatties and neaps, followed by a raspberry cranachan before coffee.
Then the fun really starts with Scottish country dancing, with a caller to help those who don’t know the reels. A really great evening.
With a raffle to add to the proceeds, a considerable sum is raised each year for charity.
